Campus Safety Team
In an effort to make the campus safer and more secure, UW Oshkosh has initiated a campuswide emergency response team. Consisting of trained campus volunteers, the UW Oshkosh Safety Team supplements the University Police’s efforts by providing low-risk assistance during an emergency. Campus Emergency Plan
UW Oshkosh notifies students of campus emergencies online via the University homepage, UW Oshkosh Today and social media as well as a campus-wide email notification and TitanAlert text message. An Emergency Procedures Guide is distributed throughout campus to help students, faculty and staff prepare for and respond to an emergency on campus.

Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, students will be notified of class delays or cancellations via the University homepage, UW Oshkosh Today and a campus-wide email notification. 

TitanAlert
TitanAlert, a text-messaging alert system, is used to communicate important campus information right to a mobile phone. Students, faculty and staff can sign up to receive information about severe weather warnings or campus emergencies that have a direct impact on UW Oshkosh classes and operations — events such as thunderstorm and tornado warnings, blizzards and other threats to the schedules, safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff and guests. Emergency Mobile AppUW Oshkosh Mobile App
Access emergency as well as non-emergency contact information, report emergencies and sign up for TitanAlert through the University’s mobile app for Apple and Android devices. Learn more about the UWO mobile app and its new features.

University Police and Emergency Phones
The University Police Department is dedicated to providing a safe environment conducive to personal growth and educational development. The staff of highly trained, professional state police officers patrols campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Learn more about University Police:

Numerous blue light emergency phones, a direct link to University Police, are located throughout campus for students, faculty, staff and visitors in need of immediate assistance.

 

Programs

Campus Violence Prevention Program (CVPP)
Several campus offices are available to help you deal with the impact relationship violence can have on you. CVPP is a campus and community partnership that provides free and confidential legal, medical and personal advocacy to students, faculty and staff of UW Oshkosh who have experienced sexual abuse, dating violence, sexual harassment and/or stalking. CVPP educates students, staff, and faculty about intimate violence, its impact on our community, and healthy relationships. Learn more about campus violence prevention.

Community Service Officer (CSO) Program
In conjunction with the University Police Department and the Department of Residence Life, UW Oshkosh provides a Community Service Officer (CSO) program, which trains student employees to patrol campus, work night security in the residence halls and serve as police dispatchers. Safe Walk Program
In an effort to keep our students safe, UW Oshkosh’s Safe Walk program provides students, faculty and staff with trained CSO’s to safely escort them on and around campus during the evening and night hours. Safe Walk hours are as follows:

  • Sunday-Wednesday: 7:30 p.m.-2:30 a.m.
  • Thursday-Saturday: 7:30 p.m.-4 a.m.

Student At Risk Response Team (SARRT)
See Something… Say Something… Do Something. Faculty and staff are often the first to recognize that a student may not be doing well academically and/or emotionally. SARRT is a central network focused on prevention and early intervention with students who are experiencing extreme distress or engaging in harmful or disruptive behaviors. Learn more about SARRT.
